Colt and I just want to thank everyone for their well wishes last weekend for our visit to Jon on Memorial Day. We were humbled by the people who said they were going to go out last weekend and plant flags. We we moved by people who said they would take Colt with them and have him play Amazing Grace for the too quiet places of honor. It was unexpected for Colt to be turned into a 4th Grade Zoom History class on the meaning of Memorial Day. We were touched by people who offered to chip in for bail if we needed it if this visit to Jon was deemed non-essential. To us it is essential. It is sacred. It is a connection to a Dad whose time was too short. It is an honor to the Jon’s sacrifice for our country. To us it is a holiday of love. The love shows in this picture.

Thank you again for sharing Colt with us. You and your son honor Jon daily . Colt is a shining example of the love you are raising him with. Jeanne T , you are an amazing person.
I would like a link to Colt’s Taps tribute to his father.
I had tears in my eyes watching Colt play “Amazing Grace” last week and tears again at today’s post. Anyone who thinks honoring our veterans is not essential is wrong. Thank you Colt and Jeanne T.
I just ran across this post and I am crying my eyes out. Jon was my best friend and the best man I have ever known. I miss him so very much. Not many days go bye that i do not talk to him in some way. Sometimes I just smile thinking of funny memories. Colt looks just like his dad and it breaks my heart that he never got to know him. Jeanne T if you see this, please reach out to me as I would love to catch up with you and Colt. INSTA: @lippysenior
