Tales From the Deadly Stakes Trail

Yes, I’m off on tour.  Fortunately we were in NYC LAST weekend rather than THIS weekend.

But I am on a tour which started officially on Tuesday.  On Sunday night I noticed a tickle in my throat.  By Monday night, for an event in Connecticut, I needed throat lozenges to get through the talk.

By Tuesday night at the Poisoned Pen I knew I was in trouble.  I was popping cold medicine as much as was possible, but the cough with this brand of cold is a killer.  By Wednesday, I sounded like a lifelong smoker.

But the show must go on, right?  I’ve warned people to keep their distance.  I carry and use hand sanitizer.

Usually when I’m on tour, I try to interact with my fans.  This time, I’ve made myself and hopefully my germs scarce.  For one thing, by the time I did the talk itself, my voice was done.  So I don’t have a lot of stories from fans to share with my readers this time.  It’s not gonna happen.

I’m writing this on Friday morning.  Kathy, my IT girl, is traveling with me as my media escort–and doing a fine job of it, by the way.  So I’m not sure if this will be posted this evening as usual, or if it will be a late arrival.  Once we hit the road for the day, she won’t have access to her computer for posting.

So there you go.  And we won’t know until next week if Deadly Stakes made the list, but we’re hoping, and we’re out here on the road, swing the bat.

Regards,

JAJance
