The next Joanna book, Downfall, goes on sale September 6. With joint books and novellas added into the mix, the numbering is a little hazy at this point, but by my count Downfall clocks in as Joanna # 17. I knew when I started writing Desert Heat that this was going to be a new series, but I never thought about how many books that might be to say nothing of how many words! So let’s say seventeen and counting.
This book marks a real turning point for Joanna. It’s been interesting to watch her grow and change through the years. I think my readers will like to see her coming into her own.
The book tour schedule is posted. This is a big country, and there is only one of me. If you look at the schedule, you’ll see that the places I AM going will use up a month of my life. If you live elsewhere and want an autographed book, please consider contacting one of the stores listed on the tour. They will be happy to have me personalize and sign a copy for you when I come through town and ship it to you later.
At this point I’ve handled most of the bookmark requests, but they are still dribbling in. For those, please send a business-sized SASE to

Do not expect an instant reply. I’ll be on the road.
Hope to see some of you along the way.
Safe journey. Can’t wait to read.
Have a wonderful tour. Get lots of rest, eat well and drink as much as possible whenever possible. LOL. Seriously have a great time and take time for yourself. You work hard and deserve some fun…. JAN
Book tours are fun AND work.
I’ve been reading about Joanna since the first book. With the last novella, I’m curious as to how many Joanna years have passed since Desert Heat?
After “reading” aka listening to Random Acts, I have pre-ordered Downfall from my trusty audio site. I can’t wait to download it.
I will probably be in the front row at the Salem, Oregon library event.
Take care on the road.
As much as I would enjoy seeing you return to Kansas City on one of your tours, we all should be grateful we have as much access to you as we do!
I’m thrilled you choose to continue to write, much less doing those exhaustive book tours.
Thanks for all you do to have one on one with your fans.
I am eagerly awaiting ” Downfall”. I had the privilege of meeting you in Hoover, Alabama several years ago. You sang “Seventeen”. I was impressed by your autobiography and have shared it with many of my family and friends. You never gave up, but worked hard to give your family the best. You are an inspiration to others. I enjoy all of your books. Thank you for continuing your writing. You will never know how much you and your books mean to us. God bless you.
Looking forward to “Downfall”… Should be a winner…Joanna Brady pregnant again..My favorite parts of your books are the characters’s ongoing personal lives…Makes then real…You and your family have a great Labor Day weekend!!! Sincerely, Jean Savino
I have been waiting for a long time for another Joanna Brady book. I already have Downfall preordered. It will be like connecting with an old friend.
Enjoy your book tour!!! Looking forward to the new Joanna Brady book…You said Joanna is coming into her own..I always thought she was an independent woman…Curious to see how she handles her new pregnancy and this “coming into her own”..Have a great Labor Day weekend !!
You’re coming to Oak Harbor! I’ll see you there.
I am a fan of J.P. Beaumont since the beginning and have come later to enjoy Joanna Brady .. also Ali Reynolds. Slowly but surely I will come to own all your books! Beau is my favorite, I guess because I grew up and lived a lot of my adult life in the Seattle area but had to move to California and those familiar places and times soothe my occasionally homesick soul! Thank you for all your books!
I up to number 10 in rereading the J. P. Beaumont books. Been awhile since I last read them so I don’t remember “who did it” in any of the books so far. I have all your books but many are paperbacks. Made an effort to find hardbacks of 9 that only had in paperbacks, so I will be in line in Vancouver WA to get 10 books signed.
Looking forward to it. You, dear lady. Are at the top of my reading list. You keep it in reality and what is actually current. Thank you for my reading pleasure!!
I have been waiting patiently for another Joanna book, so happy to finally getting to read and catch up with her and the family. I started with the first, hopefully there will be many more! Here’s to a successful tour
I am so looking forward to seeing you in Tacoma! Your appearances are always a treat. I have been showing up to spots on your book tours ever since my first one at the Dog House. I enjoy all your “people” and would be hard put to pick a favorite. I will see you the 21st and am looking forward to it so very much. I will be the one with books in a bag waiting for your signature!
