Yes, I’m off on tour. \u00a0Fortunately we were in NYC LAST weekend rather than THIS weekend.<\/p>\n
But I am on a tour which started officially on Tuesday. \u00a0On Sunday night I noticed a tickle in my throat. \u00a0By Monday night, for an event in Connecticut, I needed throat lozenges to get through the talk.<\/p>\n
By Tuesday night at the Poisoned Pen I knew I was in trouble. \u00a0I was popping cold medicine as much as was possible, but the cough with this brand of cold is a killer. \u00a0By Wednesday, I sounded like a lifelong smoker.<\/p>\n
But the show must go on, right? \u00a0I’ve warned people to keep their distance. \u00a0I carry and use hand sanitizer.<\/p>\n
Usually when I’m on tour, I try to interact with my fans. \u00a0This time, I’ve made myself and hopefully my germs scarce. \u00a0For one thing, by the time I did the talk itself, my voice was done. \u00a0So I don’t have a lot of stories from fans to share with my readers this time. \u00a0It’s not gonna happen.<\/p>\n
I’m writing this on Friday morning. \u00a0Kathy, my IT girl, is traveling with me as my media escort–and doing a fine job of it, by the way. \u00a0So I’m not sure if this will be posted this evening as usual, or if it will be a late arrival. \u00a0Once we hit the road for the day, she won’t have access to her computer for posting.<\/p>\n
So there you go. \u00a0And we won’t know until next week if Deadly Stakes made the list, but we’re hoping, and we’re out here on the road, swing the bat.<\/p>\n
