<\/figure>\n\n\n\nI need to mention two things about that photo. Number 1: Please note my mother\u2019s bouquet. You\u2019ll see it contains lilies and snap dragons. Why? Because when my mother asked her fianc\u00e9 what kind of flowers he liked, the only flower he could think of right then was\u2026 you guessed it\u2014snap dragons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And then there\u2019s my dad\u2019s face as a young man. It\u2019s spooky how much my grandson\u2019s face resembles his great grandfather’s\u2014the shape, the smile, the ears, the nose. I like to say Colt is a chip off a really old block.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Forty-plus years ago, when Bill was first faced with a roomful of my relatives who looked as though they\u2019d all come from a rubber stamp, he told me, \u201cBusks are like golden retrievers\u2014they breed true.\u201d That wedding picture proves it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s called Before The Trail Goes Cold. <\/em>Please don\u2019t try to reach out and pre-order it. Amazon doesn\u2019t accept pre-orders more than nine months out, and this book won\u2019t be available until the fall of 2027. In other words and as Evie would say, \u201cHold your horses.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Mysteries, mine included, usually end when the bad guy gets caught. What happens after that is generally considered to be nobody else\u2019s business. In Before the Trail Goes Cold, <\/em>I\u2019m following up on The Girl From Devil\u2019s Lake <\/em>and finding out who his victims were and how losing them affected the people around them.
