{"id":1565,"date":"2018-03-16T06:00:56","date_gmt":"2018-03-16T13:00:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jajance.com\/Blog\/?p=1565"},"modified":"2018-03-15T19:24:53","modified_gmt":"2018-03-16T02:24:53","slug":"do-i-have-a-link-for-you","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jajance.com\/Blog\/2018\/03\/16\/do-i-have-a-link-for-you\/","title":{"rendered":"Do I Have a Link for You"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s that rare thing in the middle of a book tour\u2014a relatively quiet morning on the book tour. \u00a0I\u2019m sitting here in my chair in Tucson with the lap top on my lap and a dog cuddled up next to me in a chair that was measured for that very purpose\u2014big enough to hold both a dog and a human at the same time. \u00a0It\u2019s gray and overcast outside, the kind of day my childhood friend, Pat McAdams Hall, and I used to call \u201cdill and lustless.&#8221;\u00a0 (My auto-correct truly didn\u2019t like that one!) \u00a0In half an hour or so, it will be time to go wash and iron my hair and set off for the next event.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday I did an interview for the local ABC affiliate, KGUN. \u00a0It was a fun interview. \u00a0I watched a taped version of it on our big screen TV last night and I can tell you High Definition TV isn\u2019t kind to women north of seventy. \u00a0But there you are. \u00a0Let\u2019s see, how does that old limerick go?<\/p>\n<p>As a beauty I\u2019m not a great star.<br \/>\nThere are others more handsome by far,<br \/>\nBut my face\u2014I don\u2019t mind it<br \/>\nFor I am behind it.<br \/>\nIt\u2019s the people out front that I jar.<\/p>\n<p>My publicist in New York just sent me a link to the interview. \u00a0\u00a0Given what I said above, you\u2019ll probably be surprised that I\u2019m going to include it here, but seeing it will give people who don\u2019t have a chance to come to book tour events the opportunity to see the kinds of things they\u2019re missing. \u00a0And if you watch the clip on a small screen as opposed to a big one, those pesky and very visible signs of aging aren\u2019t quite so apparent. \u00a0Here\u2019s the link:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kgun9.com\/morning-blend\/bestselling-mystery-author-ja-jance-talks-about-her-new-book\">https:\/\/www.kgun9.com\/morning-blend\/bestselling-mystery-author-ja-jance-talks-about-her-new-book<\/a><\/p>\n<p>At events I try to give attendees some idea about who I am and some insight into the origins of some of my characters. \u00a0I try to make it fun\u2014more like a visit with a friend as opposed to a lecture.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve been sitting here for a very long time, staring at the computer screen and wondering what to write. \u00a0If that\u2019s not the very definition of writer\u2019s block, I don\u2019t know what is. \u00a0Since I\u2019ve evidently got nothing pithy or bright or cheery to say, I\u2019m better off saying nothing at all\u2014a version of Thumper\u2019s father\u2019s sage advice.<\/p>\n<p>So I\u2019m signing off for now.
