\"Ali-13-Clawback_300\"<\/a>I may be smack in the middle of writing the crashing climax for the next Joanna book, Downfall,<\/i>\u00a0at the moment,\u00a0but the calendar tells me that the book tour for Clawback<\/i> is approaching like a speeding freight train. \u00a0That means, once again, it\u2019s time to write a combination blog\/newsletter announcement. \u00a0Some of you may be asking yourselves, \u201cWhy both?\u201d \u00a0Here\u2019s the reason. \u00a0After each newsletter, I hear from folks who never receive it, even though their information is right there in the database. \u00a0The only way they get the information is by reading the Blog. And each time AFTER the announcements go out, one person\u2019s name in particular shows up on the UNSUBSCRIBED\u00a0list, even though she has never unsubscribed. \u00a0So combo it is, and here goes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thanks to my IT Gal, the Clawback <\/i>tour schedule is now posted on my website, www.jajance.com<\/span>.<\/a> \u00a0Click on Schedule. \u00a0When you see the map, click on your state. \u00a0Appearances in that state will be listed at the bottom of that state\u2019s page. \u00a0This seems simple enough, but you would be amazed at the number of people who won\u2019t be able to make it work without sending me an e-mail first.<\/span><\/p>\n

As you\u2019ll see on the Clawback\u00a0<\/i>schedule<\/a>, the tour kicks off in Tucson on March 3, with a Thursday afternoon appearance at Voyager RV Resort. \u00a0Although most of the attendees will be from the resort itself, it\u2019s my understanding that non-residents are also welcome to attend.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"<\/a>I will be doing a number of events at the Tucson Festival of Books.<\/a> \u00a0If you want to attend one of those in particular, please go to the TFOB website and register for tickets<\/a>. \u00a0There is no charge for tickets, but having them in advance will guarantee that you have a seat and will help avoid your having to stand in long lines. \u00a0If you come to the festival with a stack of books to be signed, the festival handlers may limit the number that can be signed at any one time. \u00a0However, I have a short name. \u00a0I do not like to leave unsigned books in my wake, so just go to the end of the line and come through again. \u00a0We\u2019ll make it work. \u00a0If you do bring lots of books, you might want to consider bringing along a rolling cart. \u00a0The mall at the University of Arizona is a lot longer than it looks.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Bookmarks<\/a>And now, knowing I\u2019m about to open the snail-mail floodgates, here\u2019s the bookmark call out. \u00a0I have bookmarks for both No Honor Among Thieves<\/i> and for Clawback<\/i>. \u00a0The bookmarks are long and thin and don\u2019t weigh very much. \u00a0If you want two bookmarks, it is not necessary to send two SASE\u2019s. However, please don\u2019t think you can use one of your left-over Christmas card or greeting card envelopes for your SASE. \u00a0If you do, I\u2019ll either have to fold your bookmark in two or else cut it in half. \u00a0As for those of you who are outside the US? Some generous soul recently gave me a supply of forever International stamps. \u00a0So just send me a self-addressed envelope with no stamp required. \u00a0Going through the hassle of arranging for international postage is not necessary.<\/span><\/p>\n

Please be advised, I am not Amazon, and this is not an overnight process. I personally sign and personalize every book mark. You will receive your promised bookmarks eventually, but NOT by return mail. \u00a0I\u2019m writing this announcement in Tucson. \u00a0By the end of the tour I\u2019ll be in Seattle. \u00a0I will sign the bookmarks only when and if my body, my red pen, the bookmarks, and the SASEs are all in the same place at the same time. \u00a0If you look at the schedule, you\u2019ll see that probably won\u2019t happen in the immediate future.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is usually the time when I\u2019m suffering from pre-tour jitters, but not right now. \u00a0It turns out Joanna Brady is in deep trouble at the moment, and I need to go back to Downfall <\/i>and see what I can do to get her out of it.<\/span><\/p>\n
